Lesson Two

  1. Kasrah of the plural meem under certain circumstances

If there is a word which ends with a plural and the first pronounced letter of the next letter of the following word is saakin, and the plural of the first word is preceded by the pronoun or possessive (' ) and that ' is preceded by a kasrah or a ya' saakinah, then the last letter of the first word, ie, the plural is given a temporary kasrah, in the reading of Abu ‘Amr Al-Basree.

Examples:
alayhimudh-dhillah.gif  Abu ‘Amr reads this as: alayhimidh-dhillah.gif
 bihimu-lasbaab.gif is read as: bihimil-asbaab.gif
