Question

Is it okay to skip reading an aayah with a sajdah, for example: the last ayah of surah al-Alaq, if we are reading the Qur’an in a place where it is inconvenient to do a sajdah?

Answer

The scholars are in agreement that to make sajdah at an aayah of sajdah is sunnah.  It is not required, but preferable.  If we do not make the sajdah there is no sin on us. There is no reason then to eliminate the aayaah of sajdah from our recitation.
