salamu alaykum,pls how do we pronounce a letter that has a connecting hamza:that is, do we start with fatha, dhammah, or kasrah when it is not accompanied with any harakah at the beginning of the ayat?

To be able to begin a word which has a hamzah al-wasl at the beginning you first need to determine if ti is a verb, a noun, or a harf (part of speech). After that we can figure out the vowel we use to start the word.
