Do mukhaffam and tafkheem mean the same thing?

Asalam alaikum warrahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
Do mukhaffam and tafkheem mean the same thing ? Can you please explain

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Yes, they come from the same root word, but are used differently grammatically.  Tafkheem means velarized  in which sound is made  heavy by raising up the posterior portion of the tongue,  focusing the sound up to the roof of the mouth and filling the mouth with an echo.  A letter which has tafkheem is characterized as mufakh-kham.  Please note that the fa' comes first in the word.
Wa iyyaakum.
