Sura 11: Verse 41 Can you please explain the exception in the pronunciation of the word majreyha?

Question
Sura 11: Verse 41 (Hud  aayah 41)
Can you please explain the exception in the pronunciation of the word majreyha?  Why is it that the word is pronunced maj-reyha and not majreha?

Answer
This is a special word that is pronounced in the riwaayah of Hafs 'an 'Aasim with the alif after the ra' of the word read with grand imaalah, or 50% alif and 50% ya'.  This is the only case of imaalah of the riwaayah of Hafs. This is exactly how Hafs was transmitted the Qur'an from his teacher 'Aasim, and how 'Aasim was transmitted the Qur'an from his teacher and them from the Sahaba, and them from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him. The Qur'an was revealed in different ways of reading, and this is one authentic way of reading it.
In the different qira'aat, there are those who read many alifaat that come from a ya' with imaalaah, including this word.
