Answer
Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuh
The best way to improve your recitation is to recite to and be corrected by a master reciter of the Qur'an.  Books give you theory background and help you understand the rules, but without reciting to a master reciter you will not fully understand how to apply the rules.  There are many online teaching facilities now, so even if you are busy you can take out one hour a week or more to recite to a qualified teacher and practice in between classes.  This is the best and fastest way to achieve your goal.
