Question
Assalamu 'alaykum Warahmatullah, Some Qu'ran have a "Qaaf" as Waqf sign. What the rules of the sign of "Qaaf"? I'm confused whether it is allowed to stop or not. Thank you, have a nice day! Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh We looked at a mushaf which uses the Qaaf as a symbol for stopping and in the back of the mushaf there was a key for the different stop marks. The Qaaf was said to be a stop which most scholars do not accept as a proper stop. So it is much better not to stop there, unless you stop and take a breath and then start up a word or two or three previous to that according what conveys a consistent meaning. You are most welcome and may you have a day full of barakaah and reward from Allah. |
