Question
I bought a Warsh mushaf but there are no waqf signs like in my Hafs mushaf. There are only "saad" - and lots of them - in different places of waqf; in places of the "meem" "jeem" "silee" "qilee" there is only "saad". In places where there is no waqf for Hafs, there are also lots of "saad".

Do waqf rules change in warsh or are all these "saad" just making life more difficult?

Jazaakallahu Khairan

Answer
The stop markings in the Warsh mushaf are different than that of Hafs, and sometimes it is related to the special words and the changing in the grammatical make up of the aayah with different taskheel.
We would say the markings make things difficult, but a student of the riwaayah Warsh needs to learn the reason for one stop marking over another and then learn which ones should be applied accordingly.
May Allah increase us in beneficial knowledge and deeds.
