Common Mistakes & Tajweed Rules for the Athaan, Iqaamah & Sura Al-Faatihah

Asalaam u alaykum, may Allah reward you for your beautiful website, I just would like to know the  tajweed rules for the azaan would it be possible for you to explain the main rules for the azaan and iqamah and what are the common mistakes people make that we must avoid.

Also if possible could you explain the common major mistakes in surah faatiha that we should avoid, and what type of tajweed mistake would invalidate your recitation of the fatiha if recited.

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Jazakum Allahu khairan for your dua'.

All tajweed rules, outside of four things, were present in the Arabic language at the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah upon him.  The rules of the adhaan and iqaamah then are the same rules as we study for reading the Qur’an.

The rules that would be applied for the adhan and the iqaamah are few.  The qalqalah on the word   in the iqaamah is the only rule outside of lengthening some medd letters, as in the  in the phrase: . 

What should be avoided is excessive lengthening of the sounds over and above the normal lengthening for the medd letters, or vowel counts.   

Al-Faatihah is relatively easy as far as tajweed rules.  The common major mistake is the articulation point of the letter  in the last word of the surah: .  If the letter  is mispronounced so much that it becomes a different letter, such as  or or , then it would be a major mistake in the reading.  The other mistakes that could invalidate the recitation would be vowel, word, or letter pronouncing mistakes, in which the letter becomes another letter.  Al-hamdu lillah, this is not very common.
