Question
Assalaamu'alaikum If we make qalqalah on a letter that is tarqeeq, like the letter Daal. In the example, Al-Ikhlas verse 2: Allaahussamad. Will the letter Daal which has a sukoon on it and its qalqalah in the word samad be read with the mouth in the smile position (with teeth showing)? Thank you. Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuh When a qalqalah letter is saakin, there should be no accompanying mouth or jaw movement, so there should be no smiling with a qalqalah. Tarqeeq is not done by smiling, instead it is done by lowering the posterior portion of the tongue and not allowing the sound to focus up to the roof of the mouth. You are welcome |
