What does this formula mean ibghi hajjaka wa khaf 'aqeemahu? I assume it has a meaning, I would like to know as it will help me remember it.

Answer
Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
The pharse is a warning to the Hajji that his/her reward of Hajj will go if he/she does undesirable acts during Hajj.
