Question
Salaam Is there a difference of opinion about idgham naaqis? I've heard from a lot of my teachers that idghaam naaqis is yaa noon meem and waw, whilst on this website it states that it is only yaa and waw. Is there a difference of opinion regarding this? May allah accept all the work you do here. Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, A minority of scholars say that idghaam of saakinah into the and is naaqis (incomplete), saying that the ghunnah that occurs is due to the incomplete merging of the saakinah into the and . The majority of scholars say that the idghaam is kaamil, or complete with the noon and , and the ghunnah that occurs is due to the shaddah on the and after the merging, not due to it from anything remaining of the saakinah. In the end, whichever position is held, the sound of the idghaam of the saakinah into the or is the same, and there is no difference in the sound whether you hold the opinion that it is idghaam kaamil or naaqis. Ameen, and may Allah accept your good deeds. |
