Answer

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh,

We are good, wa lillahi-l-hamd, and ask Allah to guide us to the proper way of giving thanks for all His blessings.

a) In the recitation of Warsh there is one kind of imaalah, the lesser imaalah, called .   In  there is 75% alif and 25% .  The following examples are read with  mandatory in the recitation of Warsh, if not followed by a sukoon: ,  and in all cases in the following example: . or a similar pattern with an alif as the next to last letter preceding a  as the last letter of the word, with a kasrah.  In general, words ending with an alif written as ya’ not preceded by a  and not followed by a sukoon have two allowable ways of being recited in the qira’ah of Warsh, one with no imaalah, the other allowable way with .  An example would be the word: There are rules attached to reading either way, so it is not just a simple choice of the reader.

If you click on the following link, http://www.islaam.net/main/display.php?id=1374&category=67 and choose surah Adh-Dhuhaa, and download it, you will be able to listen to  on the last word of the first eight aayaat.

b) If the university has someone that has an ijaazah with a proper sanad, and the university has the system of obtaining an ijaazah through this individual, then one can receive an ijaazah through them. This is not the normal case, though.

Wa iyyaaakum.  Wa assalaam alaikum.
