in the separated letters at the beginning of some surahs, is always either  or .  This six vowel count medd is only with the separated letters, at the beginning of some surahs, not when reading letters from the alphabet in other places or circumstances.  A list of the different separate letters that begin some surahs can be found at: http://www.abouttajweed.com/al-mudood_part_9_medd_laazim_harfi.htm at the bottom of the page.
