Question
Assalaamu alaykum I have a question about the Laams in Allah’s Name. Some people say only the second laam if it is preceeded by a fathah or a dammah is heavy and others say both are heavy can you clarify this for me. JazaKAllahu Khayran for your help Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh, The letter with a shaddah cannot be divided when it comes to tafkheem and tarqeeq, so when the Glorious name of Allah- is preceded by a fathah or a dhammah, both laamaat of the shaddah have tafkheem. If you are referring to the first written , that has merged into the second completely and that is why the second has a shaddah on it. Wa iyyaakum. |
