Question

Assalaam alaikum

In regards to ayah 16 of Surah Al-Jinn, I came across a Quran with translation which is written with the nun saakinah , while the Uthmani script has dropped the nun sakinah.

Why is it so? Has this got to do with your section on "Words written separately and joined"?

Masha’ Allah, you are very observant.  The occurrence of   in surah al-Jinn is the one case where there is a difference between different copies of the Qur’an as to whether it is written  or ., separately or joined.    Imam Al-Jazaree did not include this in his poem on tajweed, but other scholars have documented it in books and poetry.
