alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh. There
is much of the Warsh way of recitation that is unique, and it would be
difficult to put one single defining characteristic.
The special rules of tarqeeq of the letter
and
the

the
, are not
present in other recitations. Warsh
also has two ways of reciting the words that Hamzah and Al-Kisaa’ee read
with imaalah, one of the ways being with
, which
less of an imaalah that the full imaalah.
Warsh also reads both
and
with
six vowel counts. The recitation of Warsh has three possible lengths for
, two, four or six vowel counts.
