Question

assalamu alykum

Regarding your section on muduud I am unsure how to pronounce two terms as the Arabic is not clear to read. The first is regarding leen letters. You say they have a slight lengthening - is this called madda-ma or maddaa- ma?

The second is regarding the stronger of two causes. Is this called sababayn or sabeebayn?

Jazakallah

Answer

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.

The slight lengthening in the leen letters (not a leen medd) is called   with a tanween fat-h on the first word, so it would be pronounced, maddan maa or with the idghaam of the tanween into the meem, maddam-maa.

The second word of the phrase: the stronger of the two causes, or is sababayn.

Wa iyyakum.  Jazakum Allahu khairan for pointing out the unclear Arabic.
