Question

Is it alright to memorize surahs from different parts of a juz? or would that create some difficulty or confusion to do it that way i.e. not to follow  the order in which the suras appear?  May Allah reward you for your help.

Answer

Wa iyyakum.

It is allowed to memorize the surahs from different parts of a juz’, and if at the time you want to focus on a certain surah, for example, surah Al-Kahf, it is fine.  If, on the other hand, you are working on the juz’ with the intention of memorizing the whole thing, it would be better to memorize in the order of surahs as they occur in the Qur’an, as the order then will be firm in your memory.  And Allah knows best.
