Question Assalamu
alaikum. I am wondering if could tell me what level of
ghunnah the iqlaab falls into? May Allah reward you. Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa
rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh. We know that there are
four levels of ghunnah in regards to their length.
The longest in length is when there is a
or
with
a shaddah on it or an idghaam with a ghunnah; the next rank down is the
ikhfa’ of the
saakinah
or
, the third down in rank is the
saakinah
or the
saakinah, and the last in rank as
far as length of the ghunnah is the
or
with
a vowel. In the iqlaab, the
saakinah
or tanween changes into a
when
followed by a
, we then have the same
circumstances as an ikhfa’ shafawee. The
iqlaab therefore is second in rank of the four ranks or levels of ghunnah, the
same as the ikhfa'. Please also see the
lessons on the ghunnah in the tidbit archives, located here. And May Allah reward you
and all Muslims with goodness. |
