Question

As-salaam alaikom wa rahmah to you all.

Jazaakum Allahu khairan for your website.

Alhamdulillah I am beginning to learn tajweed and use your site as a source
of encouragement.  I am a little embarrassed to ask this question and I
sincerely apologize if I offend you for this is not my intention.  I had read somewhere on your site before of the qualifications that you and your team members have to teach and answer questions, etc.  I wanted to settle a
disagreement about your expertise which a fellow Muslim is not convinced of
due to their own ignorance.  If you would provide the background information
about who you and your group are, your training, country that site is in,
etc.

Jazaakum Allahu khairaa.

Answer

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.  Wa iyyaakum.

We are not offended by your question at all, but are distressed that there would be disagreements among Muslims over tajweed rules.  Allah in the Qur’an ordered us to ask those of understanding, when we do not know something.  There are many great scholars of tajweed in the Arab world, most notably, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Syria.  If there is a question that someone has and they are not satisfied with our answers, they should turn to the head of the Qaaris in Egypt, or Syria, or ask Sheikh Ayman Swayd of Jeddah, a top scholar in the field of tajweed.

We have on our staff haafith of  the Qur’an who have received ijaazah (permission to transmit and authenticate recitation of the Qur’an, in a chain going back to the Prophet, ), in the recitation of Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim by the way of Shaatibiyyah and Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim by Tareeq At-Tayyibah. There is one of our staff presently getting an ijaazah in the seven qiraa’aat.  We are based in Saudi Arabia.
