I was reading about the lam section and about how the article is part of the name of Allah, may He be praised, and that it cannot be separated - could you please explain how it has an article in it?

Answer

The word  means “thing worshipped”, in other words, god, with a small “g”.  If we try to add the  of the definite article “the” to this word, we would get the word .  This would me “the worshipped”.  The name of Allah , Exalted is He, cannot be broken down into a noun and a definite article.  Although  comes from the word , the word for the One and Only  cannot be broken down, nor can it be pluralized, nor feminized.
