Question It
is mentioned in "The manners when reading the Qur'an" to use
siwak; I have heard that it's use is very good but could you give an idea of
what it's benefit is or importance before reading the Qur'an? Answer The
Messenger of Allah,
, said, “The siwak is a
purification of the mouth and pleasing to the Lord.”
Related by Imam Ahmed. You
can then see the purpose of using the siwak before reciting the Qur’an, as
it purifies the mouth before the recitation of Allah’s words.
What better a way to begin reading the words of Allah than a pure
mouth? One
more point, using siwak is not obligatory, but highly recommended before
recitation of the Qur’an. Manners
of the Qur’an are just that, manners that are better for us to employ during
or before our recitation. |
