Question

Could the applied definition of the medd (i.e. lengthening the sound with a letter of the medd letters) include the leen letters too since they do lengthen in the case of the medd leen?

Answer

The leen letters are  saakinah with a fat-hah before it and  saakinah with a fat-h before it.  These are different than the medd letters which are  saakinah with a kasrah before it,  saakinah with a dhammah before it, and the true alif.  Since there is a fat-h before the  or  in the case of a medd leen, the letter is not considered a medd letter, therefore the definition in your question could not be used for the medd leen.  The medd leen occurs when there is a leen letter followed by a single voweled letter and we are stopping on that word with a sukoon on the last letter, as in: .  There is a lengthening of 2, 4, or 6 vowel counts in a medd leen.
