Question

Assalam o alaikum. I hope u r fine. last time I did ask u about any website that contained any taraweeh recitation of sheikh Ali bin Abdullah al Jabir.

I also wanted to have information about his biography. Can you help me in this regard?

Answer

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh.

Unfortunately some of the email we send is not reaching the intended receiver and we have no explanation for this.  We did email you.

We could not find any information, even a small amount, on a biography on Ash-Sheikh Ali bin Jabir.  This is a common problem with modern reciters, since many have not compiled biographies and do not feel the need.

We would like to inform all visitors that we can no long give biographies on modern day reciters because of the enormous amount of time it takes to research and try to find a biography, and translate it.  Another big problem is that we have to rely on the Internet for the searches and cannot confirm the content of the material most of the time, and have found dubious material in the past.  Although we understand the desire for knowing more about modern day reciters, we would like to remind all Muslims that the best examples are the early generations of the Muslims.  This is not to say that the modern day reciters are not good examples, but we should always look at the early generations of Muslims for examples of the highest achievements and manners.

The only link we could find with Sheikh Ali Jabir leading taraweeh prayers is: http://www.shehab.org/index.php?display=sounds under number six has the recitation of Sheikh Ali Jaber in the haram praying taraweeh, but it is part of surah An-Nisaa', not the complete Qur'an.nd it is part of surah An-Nisaa’.

We apologize for not being able to provide you with more information.

Wa assalaam alaikum.
