Question Assalamu alaykum Regarding your lesson on ikhtilaas you have written 'it is not used only for stopping'. This remains unclear to me. Is ikhtilaas an allowable manner of stopping on words in any of the various qiraat? wa salaam Answer Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatu Allahi wa barakatuh. This is a good question and the answer is that is not an allowable manner of stopping on words for any of the qira'aat. It can be used on the end of word when continuing with the next word, most notably, it is a way of allowable recitation between two words under some circumstances in the qira'ah of Al-Imam . This way of using is in addition to those who read some special words with in the different qira'aat, just as Hafs 'an Aasim min tareeq Ash-Shatibiyyah reads with in one of the two allowable way. Jazakum Allahu khairan for pointing out the lack of clarity in the terminology, we have adjusted the lesson appropriately. Wa assalaam alaikum wa rahmatu Allah.
